Data produced by the regulator CNMC shows that as of September Movistar (43.39%) claimed the highest share, followed by Orange, including Jazztel (28.75%) and Vodafone, including the cable operator Ono.
Remaining providers between them could only muster a combined market share of 5.17%. However, Vodafone (+40,700) gained the most customers in September, followed by Orange (+35,000) and Movistar (6,300). The total number of fixed broadband connections as of September stood at 13,512,000, up from 13,411,000 a month earlier.
DSL (Movistar) accounted for 3,035,000, with cable claiming 2,518,000, and FTTH (Movistar) 2,828,000. Other DSL and FTTH providers claimed a combined total of 3,541,000 and 1,591,000 respectively.
In the mobile market, three out of four lines accessed broadband services as of this September. The total number of mobile broadband connections stood at 39,339,000.
