RTL secures Viacom series for Clipfish

November 14, 2016 12.23 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

ugly_americans_clipfishGerman broadcast group Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has acquired the video-on-demand (VOD) rights of six series from US media company Viacom for its video portal Clipfish.

The series will be offered free of charge in full length on the ad-supported VOD platform.

The first seasons of Wake Brothers, Underemployed, Trip Tank, Ugly Americans and Drawn Together are already available. The first two seasons of The Hard Times Of RJ Berger will follow shortly.

In total, the series package RTL secured from Viacom contains 108 episodes, corresponding with 54 hours of programming.

“Through the collaboration with Viacom, we extend our long-form offer and create further free and relevant content as an ad-supported alternative to the subscription services,” Thorsten Sandhaus, head of Clipfish, said in Cologne.
