Liberty Global’s Dutch cablenet Ziggo is dropping the Horizon brand in favour of Ziggo.
The rebranding is the result of extensive focus group research that showed that active users of the various Ziggo services are also the most loyal customers of the cabler. The operator has now developed a new set of brand names, in cooperation with agencies JWT and VBAT, that will be introduced during the coming months.
The first new branding concerns the TV Everywhere app Horizon Go, which is now Ziggo Go. The app offers live streaming TV on smartphones, tablets and laptops.
This will be followed on January 1 by the rebranding op MyPrime into Ziggo Movies & Series and Ziggo Movies & Series XL.
The Ziggo Movies & Series XL offer consists of the basic Ziggo Movies & Series tier, 55 additional TV channels (formerly TV Royaal) and HBO movies and series such as Game of Thrones, Girls, Band of Brothers and The Sopranos.
“With the introduction of the Ziggo Go app and Ziggo Movies & Series (XL) packages, we are taking an important step towards a new brand portfolio with unique brands, which is more focused on the Dutch market and better meet the needs of our customers” said Mariette Leenhouts, VP, Brand, Communications, Media & Sponsorship at Ziggo.
“In this way we continue to work on a strong brand, which gives us a solid foundation for the future.”
