Mediaset says its DTT pay platform Mediaset Premium won’t be sold for at least 12 months.
Publishing its third quarter financials the Italian media giant said Mediaset Premium had been independently managed since the notification by Canal Plus in October that it was no longer looking to purchase the operation.
Meanwhile, Mediaset Premium has been drawing revenues similar to those of a year ago in line with a largely unchanged offer.
Core pay-TV revenues from the sale of subscriptions, prepaid cards and revenues from the “Infinity” on-demand service rose by 12.6% to €457.4 million, compared to €406.1 million for the first nine months of 2015.
Mediaset said the original deadlock with Canal led to delays in the announcement of commercial offers for the 2016/2017 season, which in turn slowed down customer acquisition.
