Jim Helfgott will be leaving his position as VP marketing and sales at UPC DTH, based in Luxembourg, on November 30.
He has spent the last seven years at the DTH division of UPC CEE overseeing the marketing, sales, business development and programming of the group.
Helfgott has over 35 years of experience in the cable TV, satellite TV, programme distribution and related businesses. He has lived in Europe for the last 16 years, starting his career there with HBO and also running the European group of Sand Cherry Associates. He credits being one of the founding chairs of CTAM Europe as one of his most impactful efforts for the European cable TV community. In the US, he also held various positions in cable TV and programming management.
Commenting on his departure, which comes as part of organisational changes within Liberty Global and UPC CEE, Michael Lee, MD UPC DTH, said: “I would like to thank Jim for his valuable contribution to all parts of the business. His management experience has strongly supported the growth of the company. I thank him for his many contributions to the success of UPC DTH and wish him all the best in the future”.
