DVB-T2 benefits continue in Slovakia

November 9, 2016 07.42 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Slovak pay-DTT platform Plustelka has added a HD version of the national commercial channel Joj to its offer.

Joj HD is broadcast from the fourth national multiplex and is part of the encrypted standard Plustelka package, the cost of which remains unchanged.

Meanwhile, the SD version of Joj has been retained on the second multiplex.

The addition of Joj HD has been made possible by the fourth multiplex’s switch to the DVB-T2 standard in September and it joins a growing list of HD channels on the multiplex including Joj Cinema, along with services operated by the public broadcaster RTVS.

Meanwhile, new Plustelka customers are being offered a €30 discount on the purchase price of the DVB-T2 Plustelka Alma set-top box.

Slovakia’s DTT platform is operated by the national transmission company Towercom.
