The Viacom International Media Network (VIMN) channel Spike will launch in Hungary on December 1 through a trademark partnership with the FTA national commercial broadcaster RTL Klub.
Operating as a pay-TV channel, it will be known as RTL Spike.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Spike will also launch in the Netherlands next month as a 24-hour channel exclusively on Ziggo, and with the two the brand will reach 39 million subscribers outside the US by the end of the year.
Internationally, Spike has expanded rapidly since the introduction of Spike UK in April 2015. In addition to growth in the Netherlands, where it made its debut as a five-hour programming block in November 2015, it launched a channel in Australia in July and a branded block in MENA in June 2016 this year.
