The number of subscribers to IPTV services in Belarus stood at almost 1.44 million as of the end of the third quarter, according to data published by the country’s Ministry of Communication and Informatization.
At the same time, there were 2.99 million fixed broadband customers and 965,500 were connected to GPON technology.
The ministry notes that a “smart house” system was put into commercauil operation in Belaus on April 18 this year.
It also says that 40 units of transmission equipment and 35 broadcasting transmitters were put into operation in the first nine months of 2016 in order to improve the quality of TV and radio reception.
Furthermore, the number of subscribers to the commercial DTT service Zala increased by 22,000 subscribers to over 123,000 subscribers in the first nine months of this year.
