Film Europe will shortly give a debut to two unique quality HD channels targeting the Czech and Slovak markets.
Rozhlas.cz reports that the first of these will be known as Ceskoslovensko HD and offer archival content, both movies and documentaries, in the HD format.
It will cover the period October 1918 to December 31, 1992.
The second channel will be called Festival Cinema Channel HD and both will be operated by Film Europe, founded and owned by Ivan Hronec.
Their launch will effectively mark the end of the channels Kino CS, Doku CS and Muzika CS, with the latter having faced strong competition from competing music channels such as Ocko Gold and Retro Music TV.
Both the new channels will be distributed on Astra 3B and share the same frequency, with Ceskoslovensko HD on air from 04.00 to 22.00.
