It was a familiar story for Telenor Broadcast as continuing subscriber erosion at Canal Digital was compensated by an increase in subscribers and hardware sales.
But changes in the sports line-up for Norwegian viewers also contributed to the 2% decrease in revenues. The third quarter produced NOK 1,145 million (€127 million) in revenue for Canal Digital, as well as a corresponding fall in EBITDA to NOK 202 million.
Revenues in Telenor Satellite decreased by 6% due to reduced sales of data communication and satellite uplink services. EBITDA was down 2% at NOK 242 million as the revenue reduction was compensated by lower capacity lease and other operating cost.
In all third quarter profits at Telenor Broadcast were down to NOK 364 million from NOK 418 million.
