The audiovisual media market in Germany will achieve revenues of more than €11 billion this year for the first time.
Across all market segments (radio, audio, TV, video), the commercial broadcasters’ industry association VPRT predicts turnover to grow by 6.2% to a total of €11.1 billion in 2016 in its new market study. In 2015, revenues rose by 7.5% to €10.4 billion.
For TV advertising, the association expects a net growth by 2.4% to €4.5 billion, thus, TV remains the by far largest segment in the German advertising market. For instream video advertising, VPRT predicts an increase by 24% to around €400 million.
The paid content revenues are expected to rise by 13.6% to around €3.5 billion. Pay-TV is the strongest segment with a turnover growth by 6% to €2.3 billion.
