German broadcast group Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has extended its contract with NBC Universal International Distribution, thereby securing the free-to-air TV rights for future movies and TV series as well as library titles.
The agreement of which financial details have not been disclosed will cover the period from 2018 and include, for example, the German free-to-air TV debuts of further titles of the Fifty Shades of Grey, Fast & Furious and Jurassic franchises.
It also contains the TV debuts of future animated movies produced by Illumination Entertainment such as The Secret Life of Pets 2 and the remake of Dr Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
The older titles of the package include, for example, Fast & Furious 6, The Bourne Legacy, Despicable Me and Battleship.
The series selection covers new productions from the 2018/19 season as well as classics such as Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Monk.
