Swedish video solutions provider Accedo is powering seven new video-on-demand (VOD) services for German media company ProSiebenSat.1 through its cloud-based application publishing and configuration platform Accedo AppGrid.
The new VOD services have been launched across multiple platforms for seven of ProSiebenSat.1’s channels, namely Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx, ProSieben Maxx, Sat.1 Gold and kabel eins Doku.
Each service has a strong emphasis on live TV, featuring a free-of-charge live-stream of the channel for the first time ever in Germany. Users can also watch episodes of their favourite shows on catch up as well as the latest video news.
Accedo AppGrid provides the operators of video services with real-time control, configuration and cross-platform insights from one full-featured, cloud-based platform. It has enabled ProSiebenSat.1 to tweak and rebrand its existing VOD services to create seven tailor-made propositions for each TV channel offering users an enhanced, more personalised experience.
Each VOD service is available across multiple devices including Samsung Smart TV’s Tizen and Orsay and Deutsche Telekom’s next-generation IPTV set-top-box.
