Austrian media company Red Bull Media House will not cease distribution of its TV channel Servus TV in Germany at the end of 2016.
The “very positive feedback from TV viewers, customers and agencies” in the past weeks and months has encouraged the broadcaster to continue its distribution as a classic TV channel in addition to the online service, a spokesman told German industry magazine w&v.
In July 2016, Servus TV announced to focus on its Austrian home market and discontinue distribution on cable and satellite in Germany at the end of the year.
The move marks the channel’s second u-turn this year: In May 2016, Austrian billionaire and Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz announced the closure of Servus TV for financial reasons, but revoked the decision the next day.
