Facebook users can now stream video content from the social media site to their TVs.
iOS users on the iPhone and iPad can now stream to a larger screen via Apple TV or other AirPlay enabled device. The casting feature will be added to Android in the next few weeks.
A handy feature is that it’s possible to set the video running and then continue to scroll down the Facebook timeline with the video playing in the background.
Such functionality is already available on social media rivals including YouTube and Facebook as well as the apps of the traditional broadcasters.
It becomes all the more relevant as Facebook looks to include its own video content.
