Alchimie launches new version of Watch-It!

October 14, 2016 11.03 Europe/London By Robert Briel

watch-it_on_imacAlchimie has announced the release of the new version of Watch-It!, its video and TV production app, adding regular linear channels.

As well as content producers and thematic TV channels, Watch-It! also offers subscribers about fifty TV channels, including M6, Paris Première, Game One, France 24, Trace TV and TV5 Monde. The number of channels will increase over the coming months.

The app aims to act as a bridge between rights-holders and creators who want to offer their content to qualified audiences in return for remuneration, and consumers who want access, at minimum cost, to specialised, high-quality content that is often unavailable on other platforms.

Watch-It! is the new digital video platform available on every type of device, which offers subscribers access to an extensive array of audiovisual content that is often not readily available in the mainstream media.

Watch-It! already offers users over 30 thematic channels on subjects as diverse as interior design, MMA, K-Pop, drama, French-language stand-up comedy, fitness, street culture, African pop and motorsport. All the content broadcast on these channels is produced by independent producers or youtubers who are authorities in their fields of expertise.

Watch-It! is an independent media that is free from advertising, audience constraints and standard TV formats. Watch-It! subscribers can watch their favourite channels on all their screens (smartphone, tablet, computer and TV via AirPlay and Chromecast) either at home or on the move. Subscriptions are starting at €9.99 a month.

“This new version of Watch-It! significantly enriches our platform’s offer. We aim to provide a new space where independent producers who create quality content and meet the demands of a specific audience can express themselves and seek exposure,” said Nicolas d’Hueppe, CEO of Alchimie.

“Thanks to Watch-It! this “niche” content finally has a space where it can meet its audience. It offers producers a real opportunity to earn money from their creations. Watch-It ! gives the more “traditional” TV channels access to new audiences via another distribution channel. Watch-It! aims to become the OTT platform for the general public which offers affordable prices for the consumer, visibility for content that isn’t readily available in the traditional media, and fair remuneration for creators and producers.”
