Interactive youth TV channel joiz has terminated its broadcasts in Germany following the closure in its home country Switzerland.
The district court of Berlin-Charlottenburg has commenced insolvency proceedings over the Berlin-based channel’s assets; solicitor Christian Otto was appointed the preliminary insolvency administrator.
The website of joiz now only contains older on-demand content while the live-stream has been replaced with a “best of” compilation of the channel’s programmes and presenters.
In August 2016, Swiss parent channel joiz closed down due to its high debts. The German sister service was to continue broadcasting with the support of a new investor.
The shareholders, however, are said to be at odds with each other, according to industry sources. It, thus, remains unclear what will happen next.
