Italy’s first drama series in the Ultra HD format will make its debut on Rai Uno next week.
I Medici: Masters of Florence (The Doctors: Masters of Florence) is an Anglo-Italian co-production starring Dustin Hoffman and Richard Madden. The eight-part story of a wealthy banking dynasty begins next Tuesday, October 18, with the 4K version being distributed exclusively by Tivùsat over the Eutelsat Hotbird neighbourhood.
It is the first time that a drama series has been shown in 4K on Italian television. Previous broadcasts have included the last seven games of the European football championships.
The transmission has brought together Rai, Rai Way, Eutelsat and Tivùsat with the help of technology partners MThree and DBW.
