The Serbian incumbent Telekom Srbija was the country’s most profitable company in 2015.
Quoting a publication produced by the Business Registers Agency, Economy reports that the telco posted the highest net profit, amounting to RSD16.3 billion (€131.8 million), and that this was equivalent to 3.5% of Serbia’s total net income.
The publication adds that Telekom Srbija enjoyed “remarkable growth” in 2015, with capital assets and lending allowing it to expand its business.
In fact, almost two-thirds (64%) of this expansion was made possible through its own funding.
As previously reported in Broadband TV News, moves to privatise the telco fell through last year but remain on the agenda.
