German technical services provider Media Broadcast has appointed Klaus Steffens as the head of technology of its DVB-T2 platform Freenet TV.
Steffens who will take on the post on October 1, 2016 will also be responsible for strategy and innovation and report directly to CEO Wolfgang Breuer.
Steffens’ main tasks in the newly created position will be the final implementation of Freenet TV’s network structure as well as the development of the portable offer and HbbTV-based OTT service Freenet TV Connect. The 48-year old will also be responsible for the development of the product portfolio in the areas of digital terrestrial transmitter and contribution networks.
Steffens joins Media Broadcast from ProSiebenSat.1 where was responsible for the broadcast group’s channel distribution as the head of technology. He previously worked for RTL Television and Cologne Broadcasting Center.
