Forthnet has become the first universal fixed telephony service provider in Greece.
This follows it submitting the most economically advantageous bid in an auction organised by the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission, the result of which was announced late last week.
Forthnet says that its satellite broadband solution, which had been approved by the Greek NRA prior to the auction, proved to be the most competitive among the submitted proposals, resulting in the withdrawal of other providers from the bidding process.
Forthnet is a leading provider of internet and pay-TV services in Greece.
