Orange is to distribute a mini bundle of 30 channels from the Canal+ bouquet Canalsat.
In an interview with Le Figaro, Orange CEO Stéphane Richard said the new offer was due to be unveiled on October 7 and would be priced below €10. The new CanalSat bouquet, included as part of the Orange fibre offer, is a break from Canal’s traditional pricing, which typically has encompassed larger bundles at higher pricepoints.
Subscribers might otherwise expect to pay €40 for Canal+ itself and another €30 for the CanalSat bouquet.
A similar agreement is said to be under discussion with rival telco Free.
Separately, Richard said he wasn’t interested in carrying the new SFR Sports channel, telling Le Figaro that he could live without coverage of the English Premier League.
