O2 has filed a lawsuit against the Czech Telecommunications Office (CTU) for its inactivity in deciding disputes with customers.
In a statement, the incumbent says that although the law sets clear deadlines for issuing decisions, these have been exceeded many fold by the regulator.
Furthermore, referring to another statement it made in January, in many instances these are not disputes in the traditional sense, with most being uncontested claims due to insolvency or protracted default and the money owed exceeding CZK10,000 (€370).
This has created a situation in which the total amount now owed to O2 exceeds CZK250 million.
O2 is a key player in the Czech Republic’s TV industry, operating its leadding IPTV platform O2 TV.
