BT TV has selected the Accenture Video Solution to support its current and future BT TV channels including BT Sport.
The Accenture-developed software platform provides numerous services that support both live streaming and video on demand across multiple devices including smart phones, tablets and computers.
“Our customers want access to world class video at any time and on any device they choose, so it is critical that we have a platform in place that keeps them engaged,” said Greg McCall, managing director of television and content at BT. “With AVS, we have a strategic OTT platform able to rapidly develop and bring new services to market. Importantly, we can scale the platform when we need to, making sure the audience has a seamless viewing experience.”
The latest version of AVS includes a full micro-services-based architecture, which uses software segmentation to enable an accelerated delivery of new video services and features through automated DevOps pipelines and Accenture Video Analytics which provide comprehensive real-time reporting, segmentation and statistical analytics.
“We have enjoyed supporting BT’s journey over the past few years as they have grown their portfolio and entered new markets,” commented Sef Tuma, chief strategy officer, Accenture Digital Video. “To be at the heart of the BT TV architecture is exciting for us, and we look forward to helping them continue to deliver some of the world’s most exciting services and programming in this next phase of our relationship.”
Accenture Video Solution is currently being used by over 60 million users globally.
