German ad-supported video-on-demand (VOD) service Netzkino has launched on streaming box Apple TV.
The Netzkino app available in the Appe TV Store in the areas Entertainment and Top-Apps (free) offers access to more than 2,500 full-length movies without a registration or subscription fee. A growing number is provided in HD quality.
Netzkino finances its free-of-charge service through advertising: Up to three commercials are shown ahead of a movie. During the film a commercial is shown after 10, 30 and 60 minutes. In the rest of the airtime, it remains commercial-free.
Netzkino also offers apps for iOS, Android and Windows, Amazon Kindle, Fire TV-Stick and Fire TV-Box, the major smart TV brands, Entertain TV and Chromecast. The service is also directly accessible through its website and YouTube.
