Amino is to showcase a dual-mode 4K UHD device that delivers Android TV capability alongside the company’s existing Enable software platform.
The new device is part of Amino’s Kamai range. It’s been designed to meet growing operator demand for solutions to deliver next-generation TV services from the cloud over IP networks to multiple devices anywhere.
Amino says Android TV is well suited for operators who embrace this future by providing a platform that seamlessly supports traditional TV, multiple cloud video services and a rich application framework that leverages the massive global Android development community.
Amino CEO Donald McGarva said: “As industry pioneers, we have assisted hundreds of operators launch IPTV services and understand that very few operators are in an IP streaming green field. Now operators are seeking maximum flexibility as they migrate from their traditional TV service delivery platform to the all IP/cloud future.
The company believes the dual mode device is a world first and is based on increased operator interest in Android as an operating system.
