The channel is available on the nation’s digital terrestrial network, which they call TNT, as well as on most other platforms, including the free-to-view satellite DTH services Fransat on Eutelsat, as well as on the various IPTV and cable distribution platforms. The channel is also available as a live stream on the web on the Franceinfo website.
Radio France already operates a 24/7 news and information radio station called France Info. The channel originates from the Maison de la Radio studios and broadcasts from 6.00 am till midnight, with the French service of France24 taking the nighttime hours.
The news channel will compete with the news channels from private broadcasters BFM and BFM Business from NextRadioGroup, LCI from TF1 and Cnews (formerly i-Télé) from the Canal+ group. The French government also sponsors the international news channel France24, which is available on most TV distribution platforms as wll as on DTT in the greater Paris area, and which is now a partner in the new venture.
