The Czech broadcaster TV Nova will launch HbbTV services with the Icareus Playout CS Carousel server.
Commenting on the development, Icareus’ director Mr Mikko Karppinen said: “Icareus has a long history of working in the Czech Republic with the TV operators like Ceske Radiokomunikace and Digital Broadcasting s.r.o. and we are delighted to start working also with the leading broadcaster in the market.”
The Czech Republic, and in particular its public broadcaster Ceske Televize (CT) has played a pioneering role in the rollout of HbbTV services in Central and Eastern Europe.
Other broadcasters now offering HbbTV in the Czech Republic including Prima and Ocko.
TV Nova, which is owned by Central European Media Enterprises (CME), is the country’s most successful broadcaster.
