More sponsors for 4K 4Charity Fun Run

September 1, 2016 14.55 Europe/London By Julian Clover

4K4Charity_FeaturephotoBrightcove and Intelsat have joined the list of sponsors of the 4K 4Charity Fun Run, organisers Elemental Technologies have announced.

They join existing sponsors Aspera, Verimatrix, Dolby, ChyronHego and Xstream.

An early bib pick-up for the charity event as been announced for Friday 9 September at the Elemental stand (5.C80) for all registered participants.

“Sponsoring the 4K 4Charity Fun Run at IBC 2016 was an obvious choice after participating in the event for the past two years,” said Richard Heitmann, Vice President of Marketing at Aspera, an IBM Company. “We are thrilled to be back as a Platinum Sponsor alongside Elemental. Join us on the course to share in the experience and raise money for deserving charities.”

Proceeds from 4K 4Charity Fun Run at IBC 2016 will be donated to global humanitarian organisation, Heifer International. Heifer’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. For more than 70 years, Heifer has provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income.

Additionally, a portion of the total give will be allocated to local Amsterdam-based charity, Jeugdsportfonds (Youth Sports Fund). Jeugdsportfonds offers sports opportunities to children 4 to 18 years of age whose families do not have the financial resources to pay for an athletics club membership. Jeugdsportfonds covers the cost of membership for these children and, in some cases, also pays for any associated sports equipment.

The start line is within walking distance of the RAI Exhibition Centre.

The event starts at 7:30 am on September 10 at Amstelpark, Amsterdam.

Registration is open at 4K4Charity.com for all registered IBC attendees, as well as those who simply wish to donate.

In addition to early pick-up availability, event bibs can be obtained starting at 7:00 am on Saturday, September 10 at the 4K 4Charity Fun Run course starting line. Directions from the RAI to Amstelpark are available here and on the 4K 4Charity website. After completing the course, participants will receive a commemorative medal and special 4km sticker, and are invited to celebrate over light breakfast snacks and coffee. Complete event day details are also available at 4K4Charity.com.
