Digi CZ has become the first operator in the Czech Republic to distribute content to its customers in two ways.
Aside from receiving its offer via DTH, they can now also access it through a new internet TV service named Digi2Go that made its debut on September 1.
Although DigiGo’s line-up mirrors that of the Nova Digi TV satellite service – 87 TV channels, 37 of which are in HD – it will in due course include more channels, with the number increasing to 40 by the end of this month.
Aside from a basic package, available for a monthly fee of CZK299 (€11.1) if ordered before September 15 and until the end of a two-year contract, viewers will also be able to receive additional packages, including Sports Extra and HBO.
Digi2Go includes a number of advanced features including time shift, pause and rewind and access to a video library. It can be viewed on up to four devices without a set-top box.
In a separate development, Lama Energy Group and the cable operator itself, formerly known as Self Servis, have become minority shareholders in 4Net.TV Solutions Inc., a leading Czech developer of software solutions for internet TV.
