August 31, 2016 11.39 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Terra X Mythos Wolfskind - Mogli und die wilden Kinder (ZDF Jens Monath)Eutelsat will show the first documentary German public broadcaster ZDF has produced in Ultra HD exclusively via satellite.

The distribution will be at the occasion of upcoming fairs IFA and IBC from September 2, 2016 on Eutelsat’s unencrypted showcase channel Hot Bird 4k1 on Hot Bird (13° East) on the frequency 10.727 GHz H (SR 30,000 FEC 3/4).

The documentary Terra X: Mythos Wolfskind – Mogli und die wilden Kinder will be screened at 10 CET for the first time and repeated during the day. On September 3, 2016 another broadcast is scheduled for 10 CET. Until September 7, 2016 it will be shown daily at 19.22 CET in a loop together with other short Ultra HD content.

The documentary which will have its official debut on ZDF’s main channel on September 25, 2016 at 19.30 CET in HD resolution focuses on the question whether it’s possible for a child to survive outside civilisation – without parental care, totally on its own or in companion with animals.

Following ARD which is already present on Hot Bird 4k1 with productions by its regional affiliates Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and Hessischer Rundfunk (hr), ZDF is the second German public broadcaster to have selected Eutelsat for its first Ultra HD endeavours.
