Türk Telekom will keep its promise to make TL10 billion (€3 billion) of investment in Turkey, according to its CEO Rami Aslan.
Quoted by Hurriyet, Aslan spoke at some length about how the company had played a key role in thwarting the coup attempt in the country on July 15, deactivating telecom services in locations across the country where the plotters were very active.
He added that 80% of the telecom traffic was provided through Türk Telekom and the company “played a significant role in making the coup attempt fail”.
Commenting on the departure of two senior executives – Erkan Akdemir and Co?kun ?ahin – who had been detained for 18 days following the attempted coup, Aslan said it was their decision to leave Türk Telekom.
