Eurofins Digital Testing acquires Swedish Labatus

August 24, 2016 08.14 Europe/London By Robert Briel

EurofinsEurofins Digital Testing has acquired Sweden-based Labatus. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Labatus offers automated test development, planning and strategy solutions for TVs, set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets, and applications across iOS, Chromecast and Android platforms. Its tailor-made test solutions complement Eurofins Digital Testing’s suite of products and services aimed at ensuring quality-of-service for service providers.

Both companies specialise in creating automated test suites that can be carried out either at the customer’s premises or offsite labs. As part of the acquisition, Eurofins Digital Testing gains additional offices in Sweden and other locations globally. In addition, the company will benefit from Labatus’ experience supporting companies like TiVo® on operator deployments such as Com-Hem in Sweden, and others.

“Labatus is known for delivering cutting-edge test development, planning and strategy solutions that enable the delivery of high-quality TV and video services across devices,” said Johan Craeybeckx, CEO of Eurofins Digital Testing, Belgium Division.

“They provide highly complementary products and services, and were a natural fit for us. With this acquisition, Labatus will further augment our capabilities to help provide quality assurance in an increasingly competitive and evolving market.”

“This is a proud and historic day for our company,” said Peter Paunonen of Labatus.

“We are excited to join Eurofins Digital Testing to help our customers develop, launch, monitor, and update their next-gen video services quickly and efficiently. Eurofins Digital Testing is a global leader in this field, and we look forward to a bright future together.”

Separately, Eurofins Digital Testing also announced today it has opened a new test facility in Gdansk, Poland. The new lab is designed to provide a highly cost-effective, near-shore testing facility for European operators.
