Dimetis to build DVB-T2 Playout for RBB and MDR

August 23, 2016 10.15 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Dimetis_screensDimetis, a German software company in broadcast and telecommunication, will build up the new DVB-T2 playout for Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg (RBB) and Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR), after winning the respective European tender.

The new playout infrastructure comprises a main and backup system, locally separated in a private cloud deployment used by RBB and MDR mutually. With this approach and the Dimetis products both stations significantly save capex and opex and experience enhanced performance, according to the company.

Boss broadcast manager, the umbrella control system for all services and devices within the playout, orchestrates terrestrial as well as satellite broadcasting. With Boss Stream Viewer additionally an A/V monitoring takes place.
