SPI expands in Turkey

August 22, 2016 14.47 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

4K Funbox UHDSPI International has launched its Funbox 4K/UHD channel, along with five HD services, on Turkey’s Turkcell.

Funbox 4K/UHD is being offered through Turkcell TV+’s recently introduced 4K set-top box, with Turkcell TV+ being the first IPTV platform in Turkey to broadcast Ultra HD channels.

Commenting on the development, Murat Muratoglu, SPI’s sales director for Turkey and the Middle East, said: “We are glad to extend our previous offer, which included FightBox HD, FashionBox HD and DocuBox HD with additional five channels from the SPI/Filmbox worldwide portfolio.

“Both movie channels FilmBox Turkey and FilmBox Art House have Turkish subtitles while Fast&FunBox has been dubbed in Turkish in order to deliver the best watching experience for our viewers in Turkey.

“In order to satisfy Turkcell’s subscribers’ appetite for new technologies we have added to the new line-up Funbox 4K/UHD. Our first Ultra HD channel allows viewers to experience more nuance and detail, faster frame rates, contrast dynamics and extended colours.”
