The Russian broadcaster Match TV has effectively disabled access to video partners’ sites.
Kommersant reports that it is no longer providing fragments from major football tournaments, including the UEFA Champions League, to the sites, which include sports.ru and championat.com.
Instead, it plans to monetise the content through its own site.
Match TV is owned by Gazprom Media and made its debut last autumn.
It planned to spend R6.5 billion (€90 million) on rights for sporting events to be broadcast this year.
