The Russian cable operator Akado Telecom will soon begin offering Viasat channels again to its subscribers.
In a statement, it says that a total of 13 will be made available in digital quality and HD to customers in Moscow and Moscow region, as well as St Petersburg and Leningrad region.
It adds that the offer will for the first time include a premium package consisting of Viasat Premium HD, TV 1000 Megahit HD, TV 1000 Comedy HD, Viasat Nature HD/Viasat History HD, Viasat Sport HD and Viasat Golf HD.
Meanwhile, the ‘Mix’ package will consist of TV1000, TV1000 Action, Viasat History, Viasat Explore and Viasat Nature.
The children’s package will include Da Vinci, while TV Russian Cinema will be offered at no extra cost.
With the addition of the channels, Akado will increase the number of HD channels to 52, or 25% more than in 2015.
Akado also notes that educational, information, film and children’s channels are more popular on its network than last year.
Film channels have seen a 25% increase in the number of subscribers, while for educational channels the figure is 64%.
In a separate development, Akado has appointed Mikhail Abramovich Medrish its director of operations.
