Blake Krikorian, who with his brother Jason developed the place-shifting technology Slingbox, has died at the age of 48.
It’s believed he suffered a heart attack whilst surfing.
The Silicon Valley entrepreneur worked for a variety of companies before founding Sling Media, the company behind the Slingbox, explaining he simply wanted to watch his local ball game whilst away from home. The technology streams content over the internet, anywhere in the world, from the user’s home receiver.
Sling Media was sold to Echostar for $380 million (€286m) in September 2007.
Blake went on to serve on the boards of a number of companies including Amazon and was an Angel investor in a number of others.
