The Dutch Radiocommunications Agency (Agentschap Telecom) has confirmed that the DTT operator Digitenne, which is owned by KPN, has obtained a new licence valid until February 1, 2030.
The current licence expires on January 31, 2017.
In a statement, KPN says that it wants to further develop Digitenne as an innovative offering in its TV range, next to IPTV and Play.by KPN, using DVB-T2 technology.
It adds that watching TV in HD quality via Digitenne will continue to fulfil specific customer needs going forward.
Digitenne is expected to complete the transition to DVB-T2 by the beginning of 2020.
