The Czech Republic’s leading broadcaster TV Nova, which is owned by CME, has begun trialling HbbTV.
Parabola reports that HbbTV signs first appeared last week on the channels TV Fanda, TV Smíchov and Telka, which are distributed on Multiplex 4, operated by Digital Broadcasting.
They have now also been added to TV Fanda HD and TV Smíchov, which are distributed by the DTH platform Skylink via Astra 3B.
However, Parabola also notes that TV Nova is not yet offering HbbTV applications.
The Czech Republic has played a leading role in the introduction of HbbTV in Central and Eastern Europe and TV Nova will shortly join Ceske Televize (CT), TV Prima, KinoSvet and TV Ocko as one of the country’s service providers.
