In a brief statement, the Kudelski Group announced that it has entered into a comprehensive patent license agreement with Apple Inc.
Under the agreement, the parties agreed to dismiss all pending patent litigation. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Although the statement by the company do not disclose any details, this settlement probably concerns five patents owned by OpenTV, which is owned by Kudelski Group.
Apple allegedly infringed on Open TV patents by using its video streaming technologies in products including the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Macs.
Last March, Apple lost the German court case against Swiss conditional access provider Kudelski regarding video streaming patent rights. In May 2014, OpenTV and Nagravision filed the patent infringement suits against Apple at the Düsseldorf District Court in Germany.
