Vivendi is thinking again about its €874 million relationship with Mediaset’s pay-TV business Mediaset Premium.
In April Vivendi entered into what was then described as a “binding strategic and industrial agreement” with Mediaset that included the acquisition of 100% of Mediaset Premium.
But in a 21 June letter, partially released by Vivendi on Tuesday, CEO Arnaud de Puyfontaine said there were “significant differences in the analysis of the its subsidiary’s-Mediaset Premium-results, for which the two companies are currently in negotiations”.
Vivendi said it still was to pursue an agreement, but under different terms.
The French media concern said it still wanted to build a major strategic alliance with Mediaset and Mediaset Premium.
