Subscriber numbers at Canal Digital continue to slide despite an increase in revenues.
It’s an ongoing issue for operators in the Nordic region. In the case of the Telenor-owned operator, its been possible to increase revenues by 4% on the back of a higher price and increased hardware sales.
The DTH operation now has 870,000 subscribers. a fall of 7,000 on the quarter.
Profits were up to NOK 400 million from NOK 326 million in the second quarter of 2015.
Operating profit in Telenor’s Broadcast Group decreased by 6% as EBITDA growth was offset by higher depreciations related to the Thor 7 satellite investment, and the cost of exiting DTT in Finland.
