German car and motor sports channel auto motor und sport channel has considerably expanded its reach in Eastern Europe.
The pay-TV channel has launched on UPC platforms in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The carriage contract signed with UPC comprises distribution on the operator’s cable networks, DTH satellite and IPTV services – in total seven platforms in four countries.
“This brings us a major step forward towards full coverage of Eastern Europe,” said Jörg Schütte, managing director of Motor Presse TV, operating company of auto motor und sport channel.
The channel can now be received in a total of 20 countries including Russia. In many regions, the programmes are offered in the local language, for example in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
“It is our strategy to provide viewers in Eastern Europe with independent automotive journalism and first-class entertainment in their native language”, said Schütte.
