Russia’s Rostelecom has launched an application that allows its Interactive TV service to be viewed on smartphones.
According to Comnews, existing agreements with content owners mean that it gives access to fewer channels and movies than the standard service which consists of over 200 channels, at least 60 of which are in HD.
However, this can be overcome by activating a set-top box and accessing Interactive TV through Rostelecom’s multiscreen service.
Interactive TV is one of Rostelecom’s best-performing businesses and was viewed by 3.7 million households as of the end of Q1, or 23% more than in the same period in 2015.
