Mark Reid, currently the deputy CFO of Virgin Media, will assume the role of CFO for UPC in September.
In doing so, he will take over from Ivan Nash Vila.
In a statement, Liberty Global says that after 13 years, Vila, CFO of UPC, which includes the operations in Austria, Switzerland as well as Central and Eastern Europe, has decided to take on a new challenge outside of the company. Starting this autumn, he will join the international content production company Endemol Shine Groupas the Group CFO.
Commenting on his departure, he said: “Liberty Global has been a fantastic experience and I am very grateful to have been a part of the company. I am very proud of the team, the colleagues and the results we have achieved over the years”.
Eric Tveter, CEO of UPC, added: “In Ivan we are losing an extremely proficient manager and a good colleague. I’m sure, however, that with Mark Reid we are gaining a qualified successor. His vast experience is a major asset and will allow him to become a strong contributor to the company’s development and continued success”.
Prior to assuming the role of deputy CFO at Virgin Media, UPC’s sister operation in Britain and Ireland, Mark Reid worked for several companies in the travel and internet sectors, including British airways, ebookers.com and Yahoo! Inc.
