RTL Group has launched the first channel dedicated to Croats living outside their home country.
Known as RTL Croatia World, it offers news and entertainment sourced from RTL Hrvatska’s three main channels – RTL, RTL2 and RTL Kockica – and is available via cable in Australia, New Zealand, North America and Canada.
Commenting on the launch, Mirjana Hrga, editor and presenter of central news RTL Danas, said: “I’m pleased and honoured to be part of the launch with my colleague Zoran Sprajc. Personally. I’m excited that hundreds of thousands of people around the world are now able to watch RTL, including my relatives and friends in Canada and Australia”.
Zoran Sprajc, the editor and presenter of the late news magazine RTL Direkt, added: “It is a huge pleasure to press the launch button that connect us with the viewers across two oceans, Croatian folk are able to be and stay informed about the recent news brought by RTL News programmes. Croats in diaspora are eager to receive quality information on events in Croatia, so now we have even bigger obligation to be better and faster than other news channels”.
