Take-up of digital TV is growing steadily in Hungary, with almost three-quarters (73%) of pay-TV homes receiving services as of this May.
According to data published by the regulator NMHH, based on information provided by the leading providers, there were 3,265,860 pay-TV subscriptions in the country in May.
Of these, 2,257,874 were cable or IPTV, with the majority (1,377,383) digital.
Meanwhile, the number of DTH and pay-DTT subscriptions stood at 902,433 and 105,553 respectively, and the total number of digital TV subscriptions was 2,385,369.
UPC was the leading provider of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.8%.
It was closely followed by Telekom (25.3%) and Digi (25%), with Invitel (4.7%) in fourth place.
