1m downloads for Stingray Music mobile app

July 7, 2016 09.19 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Stingray mobile app-1MThe Stingray Music mobile app has reached one million downloads, doubling its user base in a year.

Every week, users spend an average of five hours listening to their favourite tracks and artists on the mobile app. In Europe, the app is available in the Netherlands, where it was launched last May.

The Stingray Music mobile app is an ad-free companion service to the Stingray Music audio television channels available through pay-TV providers. By downloading the app, music lovers can listen to the same channel line-up they enjoy at home; anywhere and anytime they want.

The mobile app offers an additional 2,000 Vibes channels in over 100 genres that are explored by combining filters in Activity, Mood, Theme, Genre, and Era categories. Each Vibes channel offers a minimum of 150 tracks (up to 2,000) for an average of 10 to 12 hours of music; more than any other available music streaming app. Over half of downloads occurred following the launch of Vibes channels in July 2015.

“The Stingray Music mobile app is quickly proving to be a must-have for listeners who want to access all the music they love and discover exciting, new musical horizons,” said Mathieu Péloquin, SVP, marketing and communications of Stingray.

“Our team has created a product that is like nothing else on the market. Only the Stingray Music mobile app offers a listening experience that has been curated by music experts for every moment, place, and mood. With new channels added every week, users have every reason to tune in often.”
