Telekom Srbija may soon be able to distribute 4k video over its fixed line network.
Mondo reports that this follows an agreement between the Serbian incumbent and Huawei, signed during a state visit to Serbia by Chinese president Xi Jinping and his Serbian counterpart Tomislav Nikolic.
Telekom Srbija accounted for 70% of the fixed line business in Serbia as of 2014 and Huawei will modernize its ageing network.
A total of 22 agreements between China and Serbia were signed during the state visit.
Huawei has had a presence in Serbia since 2005.
